Simon McDougall is 43 years old and has lived in the Bognor Regis area all of his life.He is married to Beverley, a local girl and has a son aged 22 and a daughter aged 8. Simon was educated at local schools and worked for a local construction company for 22 years before starting up his own small business.

Simon has been a local councillor for the past 19 years representing Bersted and Pevensey wards. He has been chairman of Bersted Parish Council as well as Leader of the Bognor Regis Town Council. He is currently Leader of the Liberal Democrat opposition on Arun District Council.

Simon has been a formidable local campaigner for many years leading community campaigns against development of policysite 6,Chalcraft Lane, and has led marches against the closure of A&E facilities at St Richard's Hospital.

He will work tirelessly for the people of Bognor Regis and Littlehampton if he is elected as our next MP and is extremely angry the way that the current MP's have abused the expenses system. He strongly believes it is time for change in our area claiming that we have been let down for too long by Conservative local council's and the Labour government.

Simon says "Our community has been let down by the two main parties at both local and national level for far too long. Our community faces diverse challenges in the years to come. We need to balance retaining our younger generation and regenerating the area while ensuring that important social service support is there for the elderly population of our area".
