GOOD TURN-OUT DESPITE RAIN.

8.28.46pm GMT Sun 15th Nov 2009

Cllr. Nick Wiltshire

On behalf of my fellow Liberal Democrat Group Councillors on Littlehampton Town Council, I should like to pay tribute to all those who chose to turn out to brave the driving rain on Remembrance Sunday.

Despite the awful weather there was the usual good turn-out of residents keen to show their support for those who fought for this country and for those who are currently laying down their lives for us. Much respect should be given to the veterans and all those in uniform who participated. However, special mention should be reserved to the standard-bearers as well as the musicians and all those marching who were not afforded any protection from the elements.

I hope everyone who attended managed to recover in the warm and dry back home and also reflected on the beneficial effect their attendance of such an occasion can have on our troops' morale, especially for those serving abroad.

Nick Wiltshire,

Leader of LibDem Group on Littlehampton Town Council

Littlehampton Beach Ward Councillor on Littlehampton Town Council and Arun District Council
