'Very close' as postal ballots go out across Littlehampton8.23.03pm BST (GMT +0100) Sat 23rd May 2009
Liberal Democrats are predicting a 'very close result' in the Littlehampton Town division as the first voting by postal voters starts today. Ian Buckland, River ward councillor said;- "It will be interesting to see what happens to the Labour vote; whether they stay at home or vote LibDem or Conservative this year, of course we hope that traditional Labour voters are as appalled at the state of local roads and pavements as we are and vote for us to challenge the ruling Tories but we take nothing for granted" Postal votes need to be completed and posted back to Arun District Council immediately, carefully following the enclosed instructions. Veteran Littlehampton Liberal campaigner Mark Foster added;- "About half of local government turnout is postal ballots so the voting today is important. Ian Buckland has made his case to the residents of the Littlehampton Town Division and he stands a very good chance of being elected, but nothing is taken for granted". Anyone without a postal ballot who wants a lift to the polls on the 4th June is urged to phone Littlehampton 726470. Related Link:Littlehampton Town WSCC Division page.
