Liberal Democrats in the Bognor Regis and Littlehampton constituency are gearing up for a council by-election caused by a Conservative councillor for Yapton ward throwing-in the towel. Liberal Democrat by-election hopeful for the Yapton ward, David Jones said;-

"I have spoken to many people in this area over the past few weeks, and lots say the same; "We are fed-up with being taken for granted by the Conservatives" Many of the local residents who say this to me are life-long Conservative voters but will vote for me this time to take a message to local Conservatives in the Arun Civic Centre. Only I can beat the Conservative in Yapton and I am determined to take the message to the council that it's time for a change".

Mark Foster, Littlehampton Liberal Democrat campaigner who has family and friends living in Yapton ward said;-

"This by-election has been caused by another Conservative councillor resigning. The Conservatives need to get the message that the residents of Yapton, Ford and Clymping don't like being taken for granted and want a change!"
