Margaret Boulton, the Liberal Democrat town council candidate for Beach ward has set out her vision for Littlehampton, speaking at a recent Littlehampton team meeting she made the following declaration:- "Do we really need more elderly peoples flats in Littlehampton, with waiting lists for GP's, NHS dentists and no community hospital provision? Why has the current council not established an "Area of minimum change", in the "Littlehampton vision" prepared. I believe in consultation with Town, District and County council. Perhaps we could retain some of the few larger family houses. What we really need, surely, are more affordable homes for young people.

We have a very unusual and desirable seaside town. No high-rise blocks of flats overlooking the road along the seafront with a splendid park and greensward, recognised clean beaches with sand and shallow water, suitable for children.

PLEASE LETS HAVE A BALANCED COMMUNITY

Improving local infrastructure and facilities - reinstatement of the bus service for elderly residents, effective safe cycle routes for young and old alike - the best facilites for those who live here while at the same time encouraging people to visit this special place.

These are local elections and require local solutions, but lets not pretend that the national situation, including the hideous outcome of the Iraq war is not of great concern to all of us. The fact remains that local power under the present government has been seriously eroded. It is necessary for the local council to represent all members of the community.

VOTE LIBERAL DEMOCRAT - give us a majority and therefore at least some of the opportunity to achieve at least some of these things."
