Labour-run Littlehampton town Council and Tory-run Arun District Council have both failed Littlehampton this year.

Labour councilliors in Littlehampton refused to support the popular regatta last year and again this year, meaning that the voluntary effort of Terry Mills and others has been unable to put on this fun-packed and crowd-pulling event.

Arun District Council has cut its support for tourism related events, in spite of them being a major employment sector, and income generator for town businesses.

There is to be no Zap cat racing in Littlehampton waters this year, in spite of the TV coverage and boost to the local economy it brought.

Liberal Democrat councillors Dr James Walsh, Nick Wiltshire,David Jones and Dave Leggatt have pledged to get both back as soon as possible, and with their new council candidate colleagues will work to do just that.
