Safety First in Beaumont Park

4.32.50pm UTC (GMT +0000) Tue 23rd Jan 2007

Local residents are quite rightly demanding a pedestrian refuge or zebra-crossing, depending upon the results of local consultation". Dr Walsh would prefer to see a full zebra crossing as the safer option to make crossing safer and to slow down speeding traffic in Beaumont Park, after the fatal crash in December.

Dr. James Walsh has been urging the County Council to do this for some time, but has now been told that it is possible that one will be installed near Finisterre Way before too long. He said "This is long overdue, and why do we always have to wait for a tragedy before something is done?"
