Liberal Democrats urge re-think on LEC site

Following the sad announcement that LEC is to close for good at the end of April next year the local Liberal Democrats have urged for a total re-think over the future use of the site. Liberal Democrat leader of Bognor Regis Town Council and Parliamentary spokesman, Simon McDougall said "The sad demise of LEC refrigeration is the end of an era for Bognor Regis. In it's heyday it was the biggest employer in the area and many local families had at least 2 or 3 generations of their family working there at the same time. However what is a sad end to an industrial history that Bognor Regis is rightly proud of, must not be seen in isolation as a blow to the local economy".
