The Bognor Regis and Littlehampton Liberal Democrats work all year round for the communities of Bognor Regis, Bersted, Aldwick, Pagham, Felpham, Middleton-on-sea, Clymping, Ford, Yapton and Littlehampton and are the main challengers to the ruling Conservatives on the local councils at all levels as well as the parliamentary constituency.

  • A budget for the many not the few

    Over 20 million working people will be better off next year after Liberal Democrats in the Coalition Government delivered the biggest ever increase in the income tax personal allowance in the Budget.

    The massive £3.5bn tax cut for working people delivers:

    • The biggest ever single uplift in the tax threshold
    • A personal allowance of £9,205 in April 2013
    • 21 million working people getting an extra £220 tax cut
    • Brings the total tax cut for basic rate tax payers to £550
    • Brings the total number of people lifted out of tax to 2 million.

    Liberal Democrat Leader Nick Clegg used his speech to the Party's Spring conference in NewcastleGateshead to call for the forthcoming budget to be a "budget for fairness" and pledged that it would help working familes.

    The Deputy Prime Minister pledged that by 2015 Britain would have seen an end to control orders, the first gay marriages and the first elections to the House of Lords.

    Letter to residents concerning the expansion of Laburnum Grove Primary School February 2012

    Dear Resident,

    Due to the 757 new houses being built in Bersted at Site 6, the County Council has estimated that upon completion the development will add 185 school age children in need of primary education.

    The two primary schools in the area are Barton's Infants and Laburnum Grove Junior School. It is proposed to expand both to become all through primary schools. Barton's would be relocated to new purpose built premises on Site 6 & Laburnum Grove would remain on its existing site with new build extensions and refurbishment of the existing premises. The works on site would take place from the summer of 2013, with a view to opening in September 2014.

    The membership contact for the Bognor Regis and Littlehampton Liberal Democrats, Mark Foster has anncounced a 25% increase in membership numbers since the General Election was called. Speaking at a recent social event, Mark Foster said;-

    "Far from the predicted mass-resignations all the evidence is that the Liberal Democrats in government has encouraged people to join the party. Most of the new members have been in the Bognor Regis town area, but we have seen several new members in Littlehampton and a few more in the villages. I would new encourage members to get involved in the local debates, social events and local discussions about the coalition"
